Di tahun 2009, seorang turis Jerman, Alex Schmid mengunjungi Redwood Forest dan langsung jatuh cinta dengan keindahan hutan yang dipenuhi pohon redwoods. Alex kemudian menggagas cara menikmati hutan ini dengan tetap eco-friendly. Ia kemudian membuat konsep treewalk dan memerlukan waktu enam tahun untuk mematangkan konsep, desain dan mengumpulkan dana dari berbagai donatur.

In 2009, a German tourist, Alex Schmid visited the Redwood Forest and instantly fell in love with the beauty of the forest of redwoods trees. Alex then initiated a way to enjoy this forest to remain eco-friendly. He then makes the concept of Treewalk and took six years to finalize the concept, design and collecting funds from various donors.

Total 553 meter panjang rute pada saat berjalan menyusuri Redwoods Forest di jalur treewalk ini, dengan 22 redwoods tree yang berumur lebih dari 100 tahun!

Ferry and I enjoyed walking down to the wooden bridges which seemed to blend with the surrounding. No matter where we looked, the greenery view makes very relax. Tinggi jembatan pun beragam, dari 6 meter hingga 12 meter. Selain redwoods tree, kami pun menemukan silver fern yang menjadi simbol New Zealand. Tanpa terasa sudah hampir sejam kami menyusuri Redwoods Forest di Rotorua ini. Normalnya, hanya perlu 30 menit saja untuk berjalan menyusuri jalur Redwoods Treewalk, but the view and the atmosphere is always telling us to slow down and enjoy the zen moment :)

The bridges' height also varied, from 6 meters to 12 meters. In addition to redwoods trees, we also found the silver fern, the symbol of New Zealand. Unnoticeably, it was almost an hour we were down to Redwoods Forest in Rotorua. Normally, it only need s30 minutes to walk down the track Redwoods Treewalk, but the view and the atmosphere is always telling us to slow down and enjoy the zen moment :)
