THINGS YOU CAN FIND AT JEONJU SORI FESTIVAL 2016

Jeonju Sori Festival is an annual festival which has been held for 15 years in South Korea. This music festival even provides a space for music and different sound rhythms from around the world to introduce their music in this Sori Festival.

We came in the moments before the fall begins, some of the trees began to turn yellow, but the greenish color still dominated the landscape. In this kind of weather it is convenient to enjoy outdoor activities, so that the 2016 Jeonju Sori Festival also took place outdoor and indoor portions for certain performances.

So what we can find in Jeonju Sori Festival? Here are some things that might interest you :)

BOHEMIAN VIBES PICNIC SEATS

Bohemian vibes were all over the place, with trees decorated with colorful trinkets of knitted wool, straw seats and wooden tables in between the trees and the scenery is very pleasant to make me spend relaxing fun time in between the shows

SINGING AUNTIES

This indoor show is called Pansori, a kind of Korean-style 'sinden' (female Javanese singer) where Korean women sang as they told the story of Nolbo and his brother Heungbo. A two-hour long story told about the struggle to cope with poverty and conflict among brothers. On the sidelines of the story, the "aunties" had slipped various joke in Korean, unfortunately we did not understand because there is no translation for the spontaneous jokes in the lcd screen Pansori's story.

Honestly I think that two hours is too long, but seeing attractive singing aunties wearing beautiful hanbok is interesting

Tips: You can watch only one hour, and have more time to see what else going on Jeonju Sori Festival

CUTE COTTON CANDY

Cony and Brown cotton candy? I’m in! Seeing those cute sweets always makes us happy, agree? :)

SPORTS SHOW

Not only music, in Jeonju Sori Festival, various performances including the korean martial art, taekwondo also attract the attention of visitors.

CUTE KIDS HAVING FUN

I think everybody agree that Korean kids are just so cute, and they’re having lotsa fun also at this festival

COLORFUL SOUVENIRS

Girl-fans-ing with Kadek Arini

Starting from hand fans in various sizes and colors that will make us spend a long time to look around, to sculptures and displays are very interesting here!

MUSIC SHOW – OF COURSE

What more can I say? It’s a music festival! And of course, so many more other fun thing to do!

@marischkaprue – she’s someone you don’t wanna hear singing ;)

JEONJU MUST DO: Hanbok Experience at Jeonju Hanok Village

I might not a fans of Korean Drama Series but experiencing traditional village is always a yes for me, especially with traditional clothes.

Otw to the viewing point

That morning the sky is white, kind of flat. We got off the bus and walked up the wooden stairs to look at Jeonju Hanok Village from above. About 800 traditional Korean houses, hanok, seen lined up--coincided with each other, in contrast with the modern buildings bordering this village.

"Ah kenapa mendung begini," lirih saya

"Why this is so cloudy," I whispered

Shortly, the rain was drizzling. We can never fight against the nature, I and other Indonesian bloggers who had come together must withstand the sadness because this idyllic village had become less bright due to the day's cloudy weather.

"Matahari keluar dong," saya masih berharap

"Sun, please come out," I was still hoping.

Finally, we walked down from the viewing area on a small hill on the side of the Jeonju Hanok Village and entered the village. I noticed Hanok roof that curved up, these traditional houses are very interesting, with lush trees between hanok.

Yummy bear-paw ice cream!

When the rain stopped, we went around. Apparently the weather did not deter tourists visiting Hanok Village, since this traditional village in Jeonju is indeed to be one of the main attractions in Jeonju. The shops that sell souvenirs, snacks and other foods are now full of visitors, mostly tourists traveled around Hanok Village with a traditional Korean dress, hanbok, it's fascinating to look at the bright colors of hanbok blend with modern clothes.

Interestingly, when traveling around Jeonju Hanok Village, suddenly we had reached the end of the area and found a large church with European style. Jeondong Cathedral was built in the period 1908 to 1914 and is the main Catholic church in Jeonju. When entering the cathedral area, the vibes were totally different, Korean vibes suddenly replaced with a European atmosphere, because this European style could not only be found in church buildings, but also in homes and buildings around the cathedral.

Hanbok rent available everywhere in Jeonju Hanok Village
Hanbok squad

Menuju sore hari, kami menyewa hanbok, yeay!

In the afternoon, we rented a hanbok, yeay! I chose a plain color and it turned out that the rent is only 5,000 won (or Rp 50 thousand) for 2 hours, and one of the most appropriate locations to enjoy the atmosphere (and to take pictures, of course) in Jeonju Hanok Village is in Gyeonggijion Shrine. The atmosphere of Korean buildings, trees and bamboo become an attractive setting to get around wearing the hanbok.

Usai puas berkeliling, kami mengembalikan hanbok dan bersiap pulang. All the sudden, the sun shine and gave glows into Jeonju Hanok Village. Oh sun, you're kindda bit late, but thanks anyway..

After roaming around, we returned the hanbok and prepared to go home. All of the sudden, the sun shone and gave its glows into Jeonju Hanok Village. Oh sun, you're kinda bit late, but thanks anyway ..

I enjoy a bit of sunset splash before going to the bus, until next time Jeonju Hanok Village!

@marischkaprue - far from princessy attitude but she can dance wearing hanbok ;)

DOZE OF LAUGH: FIRE MAN SEOUL

At first I thought Fire Man is a fire dance attraction that we often we saw on the beach, but it turned out for an hour, I enjoy things that were completely different than I imagined.

Stage in Theatre Cecil was not huge. Spectators filled the available seats and we sat waiting, watching sets that depict a house and a fire department building.

Someone dressed just like an officer climbed onto the stage. He provided simple information while watching the show, then he prepared to go down before the stage lights "told" to re-demonstrate the instruction in different languages, repeatedly, in different languages as well. This is where the audience began to be entertained, with attitude and funny doings of the officer.

Fire Man is a character comedy show about a batch of young people recruited as firefighters. With different the characters in the show, each figure shows different action and reaction in every situation, all of them are very entertaining :)

Yang menarik, pemain Fire Man ini semuanya memiliki kemampuan parkour yang dipertunjukkan dalam aksi-aksi pemadam kebakaran: loncat dari lantai atas gedung, melewati rintangan untuk memadamkan api, and more!

Interestingly, all of the Fire Man players have the ability to do parkour in demonstrating firefighting action: jumping from the upper floors of the building, passing hurdles to extinguish the fire, and many more!

One hour did not feel long because in every scene, we were made to laugh by the behavior of the characters that were very entertaining. I am very happy to see how players explored their characters, while still showing their parkour skills.

This performance got into it’s peak di saat penonton dibuat “masuk” ke dalam adegan dengan “blazing fire stopper,” ring smoke dan semua keseruan yang membuat kami melupakan waktu. Fire Man really entertaining from the beginning until the end. Also, you don’t need to understand Korean languange to enjoy this performance.
