Ultimate Escape: Jeeva Beloam, Lombok

“Tidak pernah terpikirkan sebelumnya kalau Lombok memiliki tempat seindah ini dengan fasilitas sebaik ini,” mungkin itu kalimat yang tepat menggambarkan betapa lokasi ini benar-benar di luar ekspektasi saya akan Lombok.

“Never thought that a beautiful place with good facility like this even exist in Lombok.” That must be my perfect words to describe this place which beyond my expectation of Lombok.

 

Welcome to Jeeva Beloam :)

Biasanya jika membayangkan tempat terpencil dengan pantai pribadi dan laut berwarna turquoise, serta resort sangat nyaman maka saya akan langsung berpikir akan lokasi di timur Indonesia, entah di Nusa Tenggara Timur, Maluku atau Papua. Namun ternyata Lombok punya area seperti ini.

All this time, every time I imagined such a quiet place with a private beach, turquoise-colored sea, and a cozy resort, my choice would goes to eastern Indonesia; either it’s Nusa Tenggara Timur, Maluku, or Papua. Who knows that I can find it in Lombok?

Terletak di Tanjung Ringgit, Jerowaru, Lombok Timur, Nusa Tenggara Barat, perlu waktu sekitar 2 jam berkendara dari Bandara Internasional Lombok Praya untuk sampai ke Jeeva Beloam, sebuah beach camp dengan cottage-cottage berbentuk segitiga dengan kekhasan Lombok yang mengarah langsung ke pantai berpasir putih yang diapit bukit di sisi kiri dan kanan area pantai sehingga benar-benar private.

Jeeva Beloam is located in Tanjung Ringgit, Jerowaru, East Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat and about 2 hours drive from Lombok Praya International Airport. A beach camp, with triangular-shaped cottages and taste of Lombok led to the white sandy beach which was flanked by the hills, made it so private.

 

Hanya ada 11 unit cottage di Jeeva Beloam dengan masing-masing teras depan yang mengarah ke pantai. Bangunan seluruhnya terbuat dari kayu bahkan hingga kamar mandi. Ranjang dengan kelambu dan mengarah ke luar sehingga kita dapat bersantai sambil menikmati view pantai, hey it rhymes! 

There were only 11 cottages available in Jeeva Beloam, with a beach view from the porch of each of them. All cottages are fully made from wood even the bathroom. Beds included mosquito-net, a beach view outside, everything just had you to feel nothing but relaxing.

Area favorit kami untuk bersantai adalah di dek depan restoran, dengan sofa-sofa memanjang kearah laut. Di tengah sebelum area pantai terdapat kursi-kursi panjang yang mengelilingi area api unggun untuk bersantai di malam hari, sangat menyenangkan :)

Our favorite spot was the deck in front of restaurant, with sofas put towards the sea. There was a lounge before the beach area to enjoy the barbeque at night, such a great time. :)

Di Jeeva Beloam tidak ada sinyal internet, namun untuk mendapatkan sinyal saya hanya perlu trekking 15 menit ke atas bukit di sisi pantai dengan sinyal E yang ternyata cukup untuk upload foto. Meski begitu kami memilih untuk meletakkan smartphone kami dan menikmati interaksi konvensional: mengobrol sepanjang hari, bersenang-senang di pantai dan bermain games beramai-ramai tanpa perlu online. Jeeva Beloam adalah salah satu tempat paling nyaman yang membuat saya enggan menggeret koper saya keluar dari beach camp ini.

There was no internet connection in Jeeva Beloam. I did about 15 minutes trekking to the coastal hills and only got E signal which enough for uploading some photos. But it didn’t really matter for us to put aside our smartphones and stuck into old style interaction. We enjoy having all the chit-chat and fun games at the beach without worrying about the online stuff. Jeeva Beloam was one of the most comfortable places that get me take my luggage away from this beach camp reluctantly.

Where To Stay in Lombok: Jeeva Klui

Alasan pertama saya dan teman-teman menginap di Jeeva Klui adalah karena salah satu teman saya, Achmad Alkatiri melangsungkan resepsi pernikahannya di resort di Lombok Utara ini. Sudah lama Mad (panggilan kami pada Achmad) menyebut-nyebut Jeeva sebagai resort favoritnya di Lombok, baik Jeeva Klui ataupun Jeeva Beloam.

First reason that made me and my friends stay in Jeeva Klui was one of our friends, Achmad Alkatiri, held his wedding reception in this resort located at North Lombok and Mad (the way we call Achmad) kept mentioning Jeeva as his favorite resort in Lombok, either Jeeva Klui or Jeeva Beloam.

 

Jeeva Klui merupakan resort yang sangat menyenangkan, tidak besar dan masif seperti hotel-hotel chain internasional dengan kapasitas tamu hingga lebih dari 500 orang, namun inilah yang sangat membuat kami nyaman berada di Jeeva Klui.

Jeeva Klui was a nice resort, though it’s not as spacious and massive as an international hotel with more than 500 guest capacity, but for us that made Jeeva Klui as a cozy place to stay.

 

Kamar saya berada di ujung, persis mengarah ke area pantai dengan sunset tepat di depan kami kala senja dan langit memerah dengan foreground pohon-pohon di area taman Jeeva Klui.

My room was at the end of the resort, right to beach area where we can enjoy the sunset view at red sky during twilight with the trees around Jeeva Klui as foreground.

 

Taman penuh rumput hijau, pohon kelapa dan pohon rimbun lain serta kolam renang yang langsung mengarah ke laut biru Lombok, sangat menenangkan. Sayapun sangat suka dengan outdoor shower di taman kecil di unit-unit cottage, dengan pepohonan yang menutupi pandangan dari atas (don’t worry, nobody gonna see when you’re taking a shower).

It was really soothing me to see a garden full with the green grass, coconut trees and other lush trees, also a swimming pool with a view of Lombok blue-ocean. An outdoor shower in small garden of the cottage unit got me so exciting. Trees are blocking the view from top so don’t worry, nobody’s gonna see when you’re taking a shower.

 

Jika anda penyuka ketenangan, penyuka pantai dan suara ombak menemani tidur tanpa keramaian yang berlebihan, this is a perfect place in Lombok.

If you love to find serenity, beach view, and sleep while hearing the sound of a calm wave, this is a perfect place in Lombok.

Transportation to Bali is also much easier and faster, if you compare that to the destinations east of Indonesia. Sometimes bringing a baby on a flight more than four hours can be a challenge for parents 

Lombok

Jika Bali terlalu ramai untuk anda, Lombok bisa jadi pilihan, dengan akomodasi yang tidak kalah dengan Bali. Harga tiket pesawat ke Lombok juga tidak jauh berbeda dengan harga tiket ke Bali. 

If Bali is too crowded for you, Lombok can be an alternative, with great accommodations similar to those in Bali. The price of plane tickets to Lombok also doesn’t range too far from flight tickets to Bali.

Bromo

Untuk petualangan yang menyenangkan namun dapat diakses oleh anak-anak, Bromo bisa jadi pilihan. Akses masuk ke area kaldera Bromo sudah dengan kendaraan dan jika berniat menanjak ke area kawah di atas bisa menyewa kuda untuk anak-anak.  

Bromo can be the place for the kids to have a fun adventure. Access into the area of Bromo’s caldera is made by a vehicle. But if you want to go to the crater, there are rentable horses for the children to ride.
 

Mengajak anak-anak melihat keindahan Indonesia sejak kecil juga akan membuat mereka mencintai alam, so why don't you try? :)

Komodo

You can spend a few days on the ship with your family

Taman Nasional Komodo dengan landscape dan pulau-pulau indah juga sangat menyenangkan untuk liburan bersama keluarga. Transportasi menuju Labuan Bajo memang lebih mahal dibandingkan ketiga opsi di atas, namun Komodo menawarkan pemandangan luar biasa dan pengalaman menyenangkan menyusuri perairan Komodo dengan kapal. 

Komodo National Park with its landscape and beautiful islands is also delightful for a family vacation. Transportation to Labuan Bajo can be more expensive compared to the three options above. But Komodo offers spectacular views and wonderful experiences cruising along the Komodo waters by boat.

Namun ingat bahwa beberapa titik yang sulit untuk anak kecil seperti bukit-bukit di Gili Laba, Pulau Rinca, Pulau Komodo dan berbagai pulau lainnya. Saya sering melihat turis luar (terutama Eropa) yang membawa anak kecil ke Komodo, namun untuk turis lokal dengan anak kecil (terutama untuk trekking) masih sangat jarang. Pilihan yang lebih santai jika bepergian dengan anak kecil ke area Taman Nasional Komodo adalah snorkeling dan bersenang-senang di pantai. 

But remember, some places are difficult for children such as hills at Gili Laba, Rinca Island, Komodo Island and a few other islands. I often see foreign tourists (especially Europeans) bringing children to Komodo. But local tourists with children (especially trekking) is still a rare sight. A more relaxed option when going with children in Komodo National Park is to go snorkeling and having a blast at the beach.
