YES, THERE'S A DOG CAFE IN KL!

Saya tidak pernah menyangka sebelumnya bahwa di Kuala Lumpur saya dapat bermain-main dengan furry friends di cafe yang tidak jauh dari pusat kota. 

I never thought before that in Kuala Lumpur I can play around with furry friends at a cafe not far from the city center.

Berbekal iseng googling, kami menemukan Cubs & Cups, pet friendly cafe di area Desa Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur. Namun rupanya kami datang lebih awal sebelum waktu buka sehingga harus menunggu sekitar 10 menit sebelum bisa masuk. 

Armed with accidental googling, we find Cubs & Cups, pet friendly cafe in the area of Desa Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur. But apparently we arrived early before the opening time so had to wait about 10 minutes before we can enter.

"Pets welcome, people tolerated" :))

Cubs & Cups tampak seperti cafe pada umumnya, namun pagar putih di depan bangunan cafe di ruko ini menjadi ciri pet cafe, sekaligus menjaga peliharaan pengunjung dan pemilik cafe agar tidak berkeliaran di luar area cafe.

Cubs & Cups looks like a cafe in general, but the white picket fence in front of the cafe characterizes the pet shop cafe, while keeping domestic visitors and cafe owners to avoid venturing outside the cafe area.

Mocha

Cola, Nacho and Mocha

Sejak datang saya sudah bersemangat melihat malamute coklat dari kejauhan. Ada tiga anjing "penghuni permanen" Cubs & Cups, yaitu Cola, husky berwarna hitam-putih, dengan mata biru muda yang sangat fierce. Favorit saya tentunya Mocha, malamute dengan tone warna coklat (dan hidung coklat yang sangat menggemaskan!) yang sangat playful dan friendly. Melengkapi dua husky dan malamute ini, ada satu anjing kecil jenis pom berwarna putih, Nacho. Meski paling kecil, Nacho terlihat paling "bossy" di antara Mocha dan Cola yang lebih "kalem" :)

Since arriving I was already excited to come see brown Malamutes from a distance. There are three "permanent residents" dogs Cubs & Cups, they are Cola, black-and-white husky, with light blue eyes that were very fierce. My favorite one is of course Mocha, Malamutes with brown color tone (and a brown nose which is very cute!) that is very playful and friendly. Completing two huskies and Malamutes, there is one small dog white pom types, Nacho. Although it is the smallest, Nacho is seen most "bossy" compared to Mocha and Cola who were more "calm" :)

Di dog cafe ini pengunjung dapat membawa binatang mereka, dengan beberapa aturan dasar. Bagi pecinta anjing yang tidak memelihara binatang ini, Cups & Cups dapat menjadi stopover untuk memenuhi kerinduan berinteraksi dengan furry friends yang menggemaskan ini.

In this dog cafe visitors can bring their pets, with a few basic rules. For dog lovers who do not have these animals, Cups & Cups can be a stopover to meet the desire to interact with this adorable furry friends.

Karena merupakan friendly dog cafe, tentunya Cubs & Cups menyediakan berbagai menu untuk peliharaan pengunjung, namun menu untuk kita pun cukup lezat (dan bersih, no worries).

Because it is a dog friendly cafe, of course, Cubs & Cups provide a variety of pet menu for the visitors' pets, but the menu for us was quite tasty (and clean, no worries).

Bermain-main dengan Cola, Mocha dan Nacho jadi mood booster yang menyenangkan di Kuala Lumpur, I know next time I visit this city, I'll surely visit them again!

True Love Cafe Bangkok: A Dog Lover’s Paradise

Sejak lahir saya sudah berinteraksi dengan anjing. Orang tua saya pecinta anjing dan selama saya dan kakak-kakak saya kecil hingga dewasa, kami selalu memiliki anjing sebagai binatang peliharaan yang sudah seperti keluarga kami sendiri.

I’ve played around with dogs ever since I was born. My parents love dogs, and my siblings and I have had dogs that we treat like our own family from when we were young up until adulthood.

Kini saya harus tinggal di Jakarta, pilihan tempat tinggal tidak mudah sehingga saya harus tinggal di apartemen yang tidak memungkinkan untuk memiliki anjing sebagai binatang peliharaan sehingga interaksi dengan binatang ini selalu saya rindukan.

Now I live in an apartment in Jakarta. I have no choice but to not own a pet dog. And this have made me miss the interactions that I used to have with animals.

 

True Love Cafe di Bangkok, Thailand adalah tempat terbaik bagi pecinta anjing seperti saya. Terdapat 24 anjing jenis Siberian Husky atau Alaskan Malamute yang dirawat dengan sangat baik dan siap bermain dengan pengunjung cafe ini.

True Love Cafe in Bangkok, Thailand is the best place for dog-lovers like myself. There are 24 dogs that consists of Siberian huskies and Alaskan malamutes that are well taken care of, of which are ready to play with visitors in the cafe.

 

Saya datang terlambat untuk menikmati sejak awal anjing-anjing ini keluar dari "rumah" mereka, namun tetap dapat ikut sesi bermain yang dimulai sejak siang hari. Di sesi ini ada 10 siberian husky dan satu anjing jenis maltese yang berkeliaran dan dapat kami ajak bermain. Lucunya binatang dengan muka fierce ini justru senang ngemil buncis. Dengan semangat mereka berlompatan saat pemilik cafe membagikan buncis untuk para husky ini.

I was too late to see the dogs coming out of their ‘homes’. But I was still able to join the play session with them that starts from noon. In this session, there are ten Siberian huskies and one maltese dog running around and playing with us. What’s funny is that these fierce-looking animals actually love to munch on string beans. They were energetically jumping around when the cafe owner were about to feed these huskies with string beans.

Salah satu anjing favorit saya di sini adalah Magnum, siberian husky dengan warna abu-abu dan kuping yang benar-benar dalam posisi tegak. Selain magnum ada banyak siberian husky lainnya dengan bulu sangat halus dan wangi, serta satu jenis husky lainnya dengan bulu sangat tebal, Panda!

One of my favorites here is Magnum, a gray Siberian husky with ears that point out straight. Besides magnum, there are many other Siberian huskies with smooth fur that smells nice, and one that has a very thick fur, Panda!
 

Tidak perlu khawatir dengan kebersihan di cafe ini karena area bermain berbeda dengan area makan. Bahkan sebelum masuk ke area bermain, kita diwajibkan untuk melepas sepatu dan menggunakan alas kaki plastik yang sudah disediakan. Selain itu juga wajib mencuci tangan dan menggunakan anti bacterial lotion sebelum dan sesudah masuk area bermain ini.

Do not fear for the hygiene in the cafe, as the play area is in a different place from the dining area. Before entering the play area, we are required to take off our shoes and use a provided plastic cover for our feet. Besides from that, we are asked to wash ours hands and use anti-bacterial lotion before and after entering the play area.

Perlu diakui, adanya binatang-binatang inilah yang jadi alasan utama saya datang ke True Love Cafe. Kue dan minuman di cafe ini cukup enak, namun tidak se-spesial kehadiran anjing-anjing lucu ini. Bermain dengan anjing memang jadi terapi ampuh dan membuat bahagia.

I have to admit, these animals is the main reason why I came to True Love Cafe. The pastry and drinks in this cafe is quite good - but not as good as the presence of the cute dogs. Playing with these dogs is truly an effective therapy to make a person happy.
