People say what you don't want the most, if you're saying it over and over again, it will come. Itu yang terjadi pada Bilbo Baggins, walaupun tokoh Bilbo Baggins hanyalah karakter di film yang sangat mendunia, Lord Of The Rings.

People say what you don't want the most, if you're saying it over and over again, it will come. That's what happens to Bilbo Baggins, even though he was only a character in a very famous movie series, Lord Of The Rings.

Saya ingat perkataan Bilbo di atas saat tiba tiba rumahnya didatangi terus menerus. Dan kini, Bilbo pun harus menghadapi kenyataan akan terus bertambahnya "visitors" ke rumah indahnya di Shire, lokasi berdiamnya para Hobbit.

I remember those words Bilbo said in his house when suddenly a lot of dwarf visited him continuously. And now, Bilbo must face the reality that more and more visitors will come to his beautiful house in Shire, where hobbits stays. 

Saya asumsikan anda semua yang membaca ini sudah menonton film Lord Of The Rings. Jika belum, larilah ke toko dvd terdekat untuk menikmati film berdurasi panjang tersebut. Bukan promosi film, namun saya sangat ingin bercerita panjang lebar tentang kampung halaman Bilbo dan Frodo Baggins karena kini Shire ada di dunia nyata dan bisa kita kunjungi. Turis yang antusias datang setiap harinya adalah "visitors" yang mungkin Bilbo Baggins tidak inginkan. Namun jika melihat bentuk Shire di dunia nyata, saya membayangkan J. R. R Tolkien tersenyum melihat kami semua tercengang di dunia Hobbit ini.

I assumed all of you who reading this already saw the Lord Of The Rings movie series. If not, well, just run to the nearest DVD store to enjoy the full length movie. I'm not promoting the movie but I really want to share stories about Bilbo and Frodo' s hometown since Shire is now in the real world we living in and it's possible to visit this place. Enthusiastic tourists who came each day are the "visitors" whom Bilbo Baggins may not expect. But well, if you look at how Shire is in real life,  I imagine J. R. R Tolkien smile seeing us stunned in the Hobbit world.

Bahkan terdapat "handuk" yang digantung di pagar, seakan ada kehidupan di Hobbiton

Kontur padang rumput hijau berlekuk lekuk di daerah Matamata, sekitar dua setengah jam berkendara dari pusat Kota Auckland, New Zealand kini menjadi daerah turis yang terkenal. "Peter Jackson feels like this is a terrific place to built the village," ujar Henry Horne, sales manager Hobbiton Movie Set Tours, menceritakan bagaimana daerah peternakan milik Keluarga Alexander kemudian berubah menjadi rumah para Hobbit yang dikenal dengan nama "Hobbiton."

Green meadow with grooved contour in the Matamata area, about two and a half hour drive from downtown Auckland, New Zealand is now a popular tourist area. "Peter Jackson feels like this is a terrific place to built the village," said Henry Horne, sales manager of Hobbiton Movie Set Tours, tells me how the family-owned farms Alexander later became the home of the Hobbits which later known as "Hobbiton."

Saya memasuki gerbang diantar Henry berkendara keliling sebagian wilayah milik Keluarga Alexander itu. Kami berhenti di salah satu sisi padang hijau dan berjalan menuju semacam gerbang masuk desa. Yang saya lihat setelah saya menyusuri jalan kecil kemudian bagaikan flash back scene di Lord Of The Rings.

Henry drove me around Alexander's farm area. We stopped at of the green meadow and walked towards the entrance to the village. What I see after I walked in is like a flash back scene in Lord Of The Rings on my mind.

Saya ingat Gandalf tiba di Shire, berjalan melewati rumah rumah yang seakan tertanam di padang hijau. Dan kini pemandangan ini benar benar ada di depan mata saya sendiri, rumah rumah hobbit dengan pintu bulat, lengkap dengan tanaman bunga, buah, semua detail kecil dari apa yang saya saksikan di film Lord Of The Rings.

I remember Gandalf arrived in the Shire, walked through those seems like a planted house in green meadow. And now, this scene actually right there in front of my own eyes, hobbit houses with round doors, complete with flowers, fruit, all the little details of what I saw in the Lord Of The Rings movies.

"Everything in this place is real, no fake flowers, this fruits are even real," jelas Henry pada saya sambil membiarkan saya memegang buah labu yang ada di depan rumah para hobbit untuk menyadari bahwa memang semua detail ini asli.

"Everything in this place is real, no fake flowers, this fruits are even real," Henry told me while letting me holding a pumpkin in front of the home of the hobbits to realize that indeed all the details are real.

Saya melewati jalan yang dilewati Gandalf di film The Hobbit :)

Butuh proses panjang hingga set film Lord Of The Rings ini benar benar bisa didatangi turis. Kontrak pertama antara Peter Jackson dan Keluarga Alexander adalah membuat set dan kemudian dihancurkan. Namun melalui negosiasi panjang, Keluarga Alexander berhasil meyakinkan Hollywood untuk membiarkan sebagian setnya menjadi atraksi turis.

It took a long process to bring Lord of The Rings movie set into a place tourists cpuld visit. The first agreement between Peter Jackson and Alexander family is making a set and then destroyed it. But through long negotiations, Alexander family managed to convince Hollywood to let most of its set to became tourist attractions.

Hasilnya, setiap hari bus bus berdatangan, membawa turis yang antusias mendatangi rumah Bilbo Baggins setiap harinya. Kini, Bilbo harus pasrah dengan banyaknya "visitors" yang ingin menikmati rumah cantiknya di Shire.

As a result, every day buses arrive in Hobbiton, brings a lot of enthusiastic tourists to visit Bilbo Baggin's house. Now, Bilbo can't do anything about the number of "visitors" who want to enjoy his beautiful home in the Shire.

Saya akan membiarkan anda menikmati foto foto yang ada, sebelum kembali bercerita tentang keindahan dan keunikan Hobbiton. Mungkin, seperti film Lord Of The Rings, akan banyak sekuel sekuel cerita saya dari Shire in the real life.
 
I will let you enjoy the photos from there, before re-tells the story of the beauty and uniqueness of Hobbiton. Perhaps, like Lord Of The Rings films, there will be a lot of sequel of my story from Shire in the real life.
