Located in the Grandstand, Turf Club Road, this area used to be a horse race location. Grandstand formerly named Turf Club and since 1933 this location is a famous horse race area in Singapore. Hardware Coffee in Singapore

What makes us visit one store? Maybe the sign, banner or other promotions. Almost all shops or cafes and restaurants make an attractive sign and name to attract people so more customer will come and visit.
You can't see any coffee sign

When Papa Palheta Coffee established, the owner promise one thing, that the building will still be the same, that none of the shape or appearance of the building will change.

This is why if you're passing through, you won't even realize that inside the building with "Chye Seng Huat Hardware" sign, there is an interesting coffee shop. Formerly, this building was a hardware store and since the name is still retained, the coffee shop is also called
Chye Seng Huat Hardware Coffee.

Even though there are no signs and promotions, now this place is packed with people sipping coffee everyday. This coffee shop is located in the Tyrwhitt Road area in Singapore, and eventually known just by words spreads through conversations.

Inside the gate, it looks like a normal coffee shop

The "lab"

You must enter through the garage door and you'll feel the atmosphere of the coffee shop. The unique part, behind the garage there is a coffee processing machine, from raw coffee beans until roasted. You can also see a room which looked like a lab with tubing glass to make coffee. We can even learn how to process coffee and also some simple knowledge about our favorite drink in a classroom open for public.

Can't agree more
Cute temporary tattoos

At the upper floor, there are small shops selling books, bags, accessories until unique temporary tattoos.

We all need this, actually this is an empty book notes with a bit of singlish words
Coffee and carrot cake in the morning
I bet mostly from a friend. So, coffee anyone?

Enjoying coffee at Chye Seng Huat isn't just sipping coffee while reading some newspaper and relax. There are stories behind the building, stories about the coffee making and even story about how you found this place, which I bet mostly from a friend. So, coffee anyone?

Rhythm of Lights from Fullerton, Singapore

I know starts are better than city lights in the big city, but seems like a certain rhythm came up from the lights, from the high rise buildings. See the dark night in contrast with colors of lights from those massive buildings in Singapore.

The Marina Bay Sands

One of the location to enjoy city lights in Singapore is the Fullerton area. Go up to the top of the Fullerton Pavilion and you can see Marina Bay Sands glowing at night. Or, just look around and enjoy the lights from high-rise buildings which became so beautiful at night.

So enjoy the rhythm of lights!

@marischkaprue - enjoying the rhythm of life

NOTE:
  • You don't have to pay anything to get on top of the Fullerton Pavilion, the stairs are on the left and right side of Catalunya Restaurant.

Biggest Aquarium, How To Handle?

Imagine 4,7 million gallons of water detained with see through panel so you can see inside where more than 50 thousand marine animals live. Imagine how they make a gigantic aquarium, 118 feet wide and 27 feet high.

4,7 million gallons of sea water and these marine animals!

How do they built it? how long does it took to fill the water? how thick are the panels? how to clean it up, fill or even feed the fishes and other marine animals inside it? All those questions just rise up when I'm facing the biggest viewing panel of an aquarium in the world, the SEA Aquarium, precisely the Open Ocean, one of the aquarium in SEA Aquarium, Sentosa, Singapore.

Open Ocean is the main attraction of the SEA Aquarium, with the size of the panel I've mentioned above. The clear panel which is the main attraction looked so converged, it's very had to see the connecting line between panels. I really have to look closely to one side and shifting my head right to the left to see the connecting line.

Almost not visible at all, you must focused your eyes and move a bit to see how thick the panel is. "2,2 feet," said Anggi Permatasari who accompanied me telling how thick the panels are. The weight of this biggest viewing panel in the world reached 551 thousand pound, equal with about 30 adult African elephant, that's heavy!

You can dive in this aquarium too, pic by Resort World Sentosa

"Every day there are divers cleaning the aquarium," said Anggi when I asked how to clean this aquarium. "They clean it when during non operate hour for visitors," Anggi added. Then I'm thinking about how long and how many divers to get this panel clean all the time.

50.000 marine animals inside

Also, the water for the marine animals to live is also filtered and replaced periodically. It's about 4,7 million gallons of sea water. "We got the water from the sea but it through filter process so that the water is totally clean and safe for these marine animals, no bacteria or elements which may harm those fishes," Anggi explained. Just like aquarium in our home, the water inside the tank must replaced periodically.

It's so crowded during feeding time :)

As for food apparently specially prepared by SEA Aquarium nutritionist, I saw the food, round shape which immediately surrounded by the marine fish when I got inside the aquarium during Sea Trek, but there are also different foods for different marine animals, we certainly
just can't give the same food for manta rays with the batfish.

Leopard shark with schools of smaller fishes following

There are still many other things I really want to ask, unfortunately there are no technical guy around to ask. I might spend countless hours to ask and ask about this breath taking artificial marine habitat.

Memang habitat asli jauh lebih indah, namun melihat manusia sanggup membuat sepotong keindahan ini ada di darat dan dapat melihat begitu dekat, you'll be amazed.

I still think that the natural habitat is way more beautiful, but look at this and realize that human are capable to built this beautiful marine life which are accessible to see so close, you'll be amazed.

I always persuade anyone I met to start diving, to enjoy the beauty of the blue sea and the diversity of sea creatures on it.

Diving is not easy, you need to learn first, making yourself familiar with the gears to accommodate this water sports and also getting diving license to be able to dive in various diving spots.t dive sites. Beside that, diving is also considered as an expensive sports since it requires gears, boat rental and even plane tickets to get into great dive sites which is quite far from Jakarta in Indonesia.

Snorkeling is so easy!

The first way of making someone love the sea is by let them see how beautiful it is, by letting them witness how rich the colors in the ocean and the easiest way is by snorkeling since you don't have to be able to swim or holding your breath and also it doesn't require a lot of energy. Just wear the mask, snorkel and fins, let your face burrowed down in the water, breath through the snorkel and enjoy the beauty of corals and fishes near the surface.
Rainbow Reef pond full of fishes

But apparently the beauty which must be obtained only at the sea can now be enjoyed without going to the sea. Yes, the sensation of snorkeling here isn't something you must go to the sea first, though it is still located in the coastal area.

Those with stripes are the sergeant damselfish

At Adventure Cove Waterpark, Sentosa Island, Singapore, you can feel the sensation of some kind of "artificial" snorkeling. Why do I called that artificial? since the pond full of fish is entirely man-made, although the fishes is of course real. Variety of man made hard corals are planted inside the pond, complete with fishes you usually see when snorkeling at the sea such as damselfishes, anthias and also angelfishes.
Can you believe this is all man-made?

This Rainbow Reef pond is protrudes, higher than the floor and at some side of the pond you can see rectangle glass to see inside the pond which is filled with colorful fishes. For families with young children, this is an ideal place to introduce some marine fish and also some kind of simulation for the real snorkeling in the sea later.

Unfortunately this Rainbow Reef is very attractive to visitors, which meant that I had to queue first before enjoying one laps around this pond. I think to be satisfied, you must try at least two laps around the pond, so if you have options, try not to come during holiday peak or weekend so you can enjoy this place even more.

@marischkaprue - usually snorkeling without snorkel, or should we say just free dive?
