Body Rafting di Gua Keramat Misool: Berani?

Jika berkunjung ke Misool kita akan menemukan beberapa perbedaan dengan sebagian besar wilayah di Raja Ampat lainnya. Pertama tentunya landscape dan seascape yang sangat “wah” dengan gugusan batu karang yang sangat banyak dan variatif, serta kepercayaan sebagian besar penduduk Misool yang terlihat dari banyaknya Masjid di desa-desa terutama di Misool Selatan.

Visiting Misool was not like the other part of Raja Ampat. First thing must be the “wow” landscape and seascape with the various clusters of rocks. Besides, the belief of most people at Misool was already so obvious by many mosques in the village especially in South Misool.

Ada satu area yang dikeramatkan oleh warga Misool, satu gua yang menarik dan dipercaya sebagai makam dari dua tokoh yang membawa ajaran agama Islam ke Misool. 

There was one spot that such a sacred place for Misool people, a unique cave which believed as the tomb of two figures that introduced Islam to Misool.

“Lihat tulisan di atas gua,” ujar guide kami menunjuk pattern berwarna putih yang merupakan warna yang terbentuk dari kapur di batuan pulau-pulau karang Misool. Tulisan putih itu berbentuk seperti lafal “Allah” dalam tulisan Arab dan semakin menegaskan gua ini sebagai tempat yang keramat.

“Look at the words on the cave!” our guide asked us to see some white pattern which was made from the lime on the rock of Misool coral islands. That white words shaped like a pronunciation of “Allah” in Arabic. This confirmed the cave as a sacred place in Misool.

“Jangan ngomong sembarangan ya di gua ini,” kami kembali diingatkan untuk tidak sembarangan di Gua Keramat. 

“Watch your mouth inside the cave!” again, we were alarmed not to act carelessly in this Keramat Cave.

Meski keramat namun gua ini sejujurnya sangat indah. Dari mulut gua kita dapat melihat air laut berwarna turquoise, dan mulut gua yang sangat indah dengan stalaktit dan stalagmit.

Eventhough it’s a sacred place, but honestly this cave was so beautiful. From the mouth of the cave, we could see the turquoise-colored ocean water, included with the stalactites and stalagmites.

Menyusuri gua keramat harus dilakukan dengan cara body rafting, jadi anda mesti menggunakan life vest (atau jika sudah cukup pede berenang tanpa life vest pun tidak masalah) untuk masuk dan melewati gua ini.

We had to do body rafting in order to cave this Sacred Cave, so we have to wear the life vest (except you are brave enough to swim without it) to go inside and pass through the cave.

What you'll see when you went below the surface

Di bagian depan dekat mulut gua terdapat makam keramat namun kita harus naik ke bagian atas, namun saya justru lebih tertarik dengan apa yang ada di bawah. Beberapa kali saya dan Ferry free dive ke dasar gua yang berpasir dan melihat sekeliling. Terdapat banyak batuan namun tanpa koral berwarna warni yang tumbuh. Di area yang lebih gelap cukup spooky saat melihat area di bawah permukaan gua keramat karena saya hanya dapat melihat sedikit area dengan cahaya senter.

In the front side next to the mouth of the cave, we could see the sacred tomb if we could head to the top. Otherwise, the lower side caught my interest more. For several times, Ferry and I had a free dive to the sandy area of the bottom cave and looked around. I saw many rocks but no colored corals. It was a bit spooky when I had to see below the surface of the darker area by only using a flashlight.

Bagian langit-langit gua keramat memberikan sensasi yang berbeda lagi. Bukan spooky namun majestic dengan pattern dari stalaktit di langit-langit gua, dan area dekat ujung gua berbentuk seperti chamber besar dengan kubah dipenuhi stalakmit, sangat indah :)

I was surprised with the ceiling of this sacred cave. It was not spooky at all but surprisingly majestic by the stalactites pattern on the ceiling, and area near the end of cave was like a large chamber with dome that full with stalagmites, so beautiful :)

Gua Keramat bisa memberikan sensasi berbeda-beda, seru dan menenangkan saat body rafting memasuki gua, seru sekaligus menegangkan saat free dive ke dalam air laut yang mengisi dasar gua, atau majestic saat menikmati indahnya langit-langit gua keramat. Just choose what kind of sensation you want ;)

Sacred Cave would give you different sensations. It was exciting yet calm you down in doing body rafting entering the cave. However, it’s also got you tense when having free dive inside the ocean through the cave, and even it let you feel the majesty by its amazing ceiling. Just choose what kind of sensation you want. J

Take Your Breath Away at Harfat Peak (Puncak Harfat, Misool)

Saya sudah berkali-kali bercerita tentang keindahan Misool di selatan Raja Ampat. Namun, lokasi yang satu ini masih saya "simpan" cukup lama sebelum saya posting di blog ini. Alasan pertama adalah karena pada saat kedatangan saya pertama kali di bulan Mei 2014, cuaca sedang mendung saat itu. Puncak Harfat tetap indah namun saya selalu merasa "berdosa" jika memberikan foto yang biasa saat saya tahu lokasi tersebut sebenarnya jauh lebih indah.

I’ve told the story of the beautiful Misool in the south of Raja Ampat many times before. But this is one location that I’ve “kept” for a while before posting it on my blog. My first reason of doing so is this: the first time I arrived in May 2014, the weather was cloudy. Harfat Peak remains beautiful, but I felt “guilty” if I posted mediocre photos when I know that the location was actually much more beautiful than it will look like in the photo.

Maka di bulan Oktober 2014 (ini adalah bulan yang lebih tepat untuk mengunjungi Misool) saya kembali ke Misool dan kembali ke Puncak Harfat. Berbeda dengan trip sebelumnya, kali ini kami disambut matahari yang bersinar cerah, membuat laut Misool begitu mengundang untuk menceburkan diri dan membuat pulau-pulau karang begitu terlihat jelas dengan kontrasnya biru langit. It was amazing!

So in October 2014 (this is a better month to visit Misool), I came back to Misool and returned to Puncak Harfat. Different from the previous trip, this time we were welcomed by the bright sunlight that made Misool’s waters so inviting to jump in, and made the coral islands crystal clear with the contrast of the blue skies. It was amazing!

Puncak Harfat baru ditemukan di tahun 2012 akhir oleh Harun Sapua, warga Kampung Harapan Jaya, Misool. Sebelumnya ia berkeliling Misool sambil terus mencari bukit yang dapat didaki untuk melihat pemandangan Misool dari atas. "Setiap melewati bukit itu saya selalu merasa mungkin ini tempatnya, tapi baru tahun 2012 saya temukan jalurnya," ujar Pak Harun. Titik untuk melihat Misool dari atas bukit pulau karang ini akhirnya dinamakan Puncak Harfat, dari gabungan nama Pak Harun dan istrinya, Fatima.

Harfat Peak was discovered back at the end of 2012 by Harun Sapua, Kampung Harapan Jaya village resident in Misool. Previously, he went around Misool while looking for a climbable peak to get a view of Misool from above. “Every time I come across that peak, I always think that this may be the place, but I found the path to get there just recently in 2012,” says Mr. Harun. The spot to see Misool from the peak of this coral island was eventually named Harfat Peak, by combining Mr. Harun’s name and his wife’s name, Fatima.

Trek menuju ke Puncak Harfat sudah diberi jalur, tangga dan pegangan kayu sehingga cenderung mudah untuk didaki. Sebenarnya hanya perlu waktu sekitar 30 menit untuk sampai di atas namun karena banyak titik dimana kita dapat melihat pemandangan indah maka kami selalu berhenti beberapa lama untuk mengambil foto.

The path to Harfat Peak has been given proper pathways, staircases, and wooden handles to make it easier to climb. Actually, only 30 minutes are needed to arrive at the top. But because of the many spots we can view the beautiful scenery, we always stop for a while to take photos.

Ada tiga lokasi di Puncak Harfat untuk melihat sekeliling dengan view yang berbeda karena mengarah ke area yang berbeda pula. Dari tiga tempat jika digabungkan bagaikan melihat 180° dengan view pulau-pulau karang Misool yang mempesona.

There are three locations at Harfat Peak to see the scenery, with different views that point to different areas. If you combine the three locations, it’ll be as if you have a 180° view of Misool’s magnificent coral islands.

Salah satu puncak di bagian ujung kanan trek saat tiba di atas cukup sempit, kami tidak bisa foto beramai-ramai di sini karena batuan yang berada di ujung tidak luas, namun kita juga bisa duduk di sebelah kanan dengan view yang sangat cantik :)

At one of the peaks, the right side of the very end of the path is quite narrow. Hence, we can’t take group pictures here for the rocks at the end isn’t wide enough. But we can at least sit on the right side, with a gorgeous view. :)

Dari Puncak Kecil ini kita bisa melihat pulau yang bentuknya seperti Loch Ness dan "Mordor" di depannya. Saya dan Ferry menyebut pulau-pulau karang yang gelap dan tajam itu Mordor karena tampak seperti markas tokoh jahat di cerita-cerita fiksi, khususnya Lord Of The Rings.

From this small peak, we can see an island that looks like the loch ness monster and “Mordor”. Ferry and I call the dark and sharp coral islands “Mordor”, because they look like the home base of evil characters in fictional stories, particularly like the one in “The Lord of the Rings”.

Puncak lain lebih luas, salah satunya dengan batuan karang yang berderet di ujung. Mesti hati-hati berjalan di batuan karang ini karena langsung berbatasan dengan tebing, salah satu spot terbaik di batuan paling ujung dengan view Misool yang spektakuler.

Other peaks are more spacious, one of which has coral reefs lined up at the end. Extra care must be taken when walking on these coral rocks, for beside it is the edge of the cliff. But this spot is actually one of the best spots to view spectacular Misool.  

Yang membuat pemandangan dari Puncak Harfat begitu mempesona salah satunya adalah laut Misool yang dangkal dengan pasir putih di bawahnya, membuat laut di sekeliling pulau-pulau karang itu berwarna-warni dengan rangkaian warna turquoise. Langit yang biru plus awan putih membuat kami makin cinta dengan Misool, totally a breath-taking view!

What makes the view from Harfat Peak so astonishing is Misool’s shallow waters with white sands underneath, coloring the water around the coral islands with an array of turquoise. The blue skies with white clouds has made us to become more in love with Misool, totally a breath-taking view!

Nature's Waterpark: Balbulol, Misool

Ada kalanya saat kita melihat landscape, struktur pulau atau benda di alam kita akan membayangkan proses terjadinya bentuk-bentuk yang kini ada. Bagi saya Misool adalah area dimana sulit untuk membayangkan proses terjadinya pulau-pulau di gugusan wilayah selatan Raja Ampat, Papua Barat tersebut.

Memang, sebagian besar pulau adalah pulau karang seperti di Wayag, namun Misool punya pemandangan yang benar-benar unik dan "Wah," seperti bentuk-bentuk yang cukup acak yang dapat kita temui di Yapap.

Those cone rocks are huge!

Batuan besar seperti kerucut (jika tidak bisa dikatakan pulau) dengan ukuran besar yang muncul di atas permukaan laut ada di beberapa area di Misool, Balbulol dan juga Dafalen. Batuan ini seperti cone ice cream yang dibalik dan muncul di atas permukaan laut, dengan bagian yang bersentuhan dengan air laut lebih terkikis.

Clear water everywhere

Balbulol memiliki bentuk batuan karang kerucut berukuran sangat besar, tinggi batuan ini mencapai puluhan meter. Ada satu "pulau" kerucut besar di tengah, dengan bentuk kerucut lain yang lebih mengkotak di bagian sisi. Balbulol benar-benar menyajikan pemandangan yang megah, seakan-akan batu-batu kerucut tersebut diletakkan dengan sengaja.

Yang paling menyenangkan lagi dari Balbulol adalah betapa dangkalnya area di sekitar batu-batu kerucut ini, dengan pasir putih di dasarnya membuat Balbulol bagaikan area waterpark alami dengan set yang luar biasa. Saat matahari bersinar cerah dan membuat semua koral terlihat jelas dan membuat pasir putih mewarnai laut menjadi turquoise, this is paradise!

Kami juga beruntung dapat melihat bentuk area Balbulol dari atas berkat drone yang dibawa Ferry. Ada "love pool" di bagian ujung, yaitu area yang sedikit lebih dalam di area dangkal Balbulol dengan bentuk hati.

Best place to dip in

Patrick really relate with this place since he has the similar shape with those rocks :D

Balbulol hanya salah satu dari area di Misool yang akan membuat anda terdiam melihat pemandangan yang ada dan dibuat kagum berkali-kali. As I told you before, Misool is a piece of heaven on earth. I wish I could visit the heaven over and over again. Let's say Amen to that!
